Mar '23 Project Status Update: Monte Castillo's Clean Water Impact

To see the full impact of what sustainable, clean water can do for a community, VAVV explores data from Monte Castillo. Before our clean water project, this community of 7,000+ people was forced to use and drink water from highly contanimated brown water that strongly resembled chocolate milk in color. Jan. '23 Project Status Update: Impact Reports

“Now, less than 15% of the people in the community of Monte Castillo suffer from Chronic waterborne illnesses (i.e. Diarrhea, Persistent Stomach Pain, etc.) compared to what was over 50% of the population before our clean water project,” Jacob Niemeier, Founder of VAVV, wrote. “This is amazing progress!”

Oct '22 Project Status Update: Perseverance for Final Approval

July 2021 Project Status Update: Planning and Detailed Data Collection

Visualizing the Need for Clean Water

From the beginning, VAVV has strived to leverage partners throughout the private & public sector to build our capacity as an organization, improve our designs, tell our story, improve our operations, and provide critical expertise on topics such as strategic planning, fundraising, and project & program delivery. Earlier this year, we were able to do just that by enaging a new partner from the world of data analytics and visualization by the name of Viz for Social Good, an organization that brings together skilled volunteers in the data viz community to visualize impact and tell stories for nonprofits using data.
