August was a month of strategic progress across both our active projects in Peru. In Las Mercedes KM11, we moved closer to construction by securing permits, refining operations, and strengthening local leadership. Meanwhile, in La Merced, we identified the well drilling location and advanced legal groundwork to ensure a sustainable, community-approved water solution.

This month’s update brings exciting progress as clean water arrives for the first time in Las Mercedes KM11 and critical testing in La Merced moves the newest project forward. From ownership transfer to water source analysis, these steps are paving the way for lasting impact.

After two years of partnership, Las Mercedes KM11 has reached a major milestone—receiving a water tanker truck that is already delivering clean reliable water directly to families for the first time in their history! While progress towards the full water system continues, this truck marks the beginning of a new chapter of dignity, health, and hope for over 1,200 people.

This May, VAVV reports major progress in two rural communities. The purchase of a Water Tanker Truck is being prepared, setting the stage for clean water delivery for one and we’ve taken important steps forward in water source testing to determine the best long-term solution for the other!
