Our 7th Speakeasy Gala for Clean Water: A Night of Glamour, A Cause of Urgency
On Saturday, May 17, the spirit of the Roaring Twenties will be alive and well in Richardson, Texas — but this time, the glitz and glamour are driven by a deeper purpose. At our 7th Annual Speakeasy Gala, guests will dance the night away in 1920s dress, knowing they’ll be raising their glasses for an urgent cause: clean water access for Las Mercedes KM11, a rural community in northern Peru.
The Community Behind the Cause
Las Mercedes KM11 is home to more than 1,200 resilient residents who face a daily challenge: clean water is not available anywhere nearby. The closest access point is over a mile away, and transporting water is a slow, tedious process, especially for families already battling health issues caused by contaminated water, which affects nearly half of the LM KM11 community.
That’s why this year’s gala supports a specific, game-changing goal: funding a water tanker truck for LM KM11. This vehicle will serve as a lifeline, delivering clean, drinkable water to the community, dramatically reducing the physical burden and numerous health risks residents currently face.
The Gala
Our gala’s 1920s speakeasy theme offers a unique blend of celebration and philanthropy. Guests will enjoy a cocktail hour, a gourmet plated dinner, and live jazz, all culminating in a high-energy dance floor. But beyond the ambiance lies a mission that truly moves people.
Keynote speaker Michael Hoffman is a nationally respected voice on mission-driven leadership, commonly speaking on how compassion and community can fuel meaningful change. Attendees will also hear from Hans Ingold, sharing a powerful firsthand testimonial on the impact of clean water in rural Peru.
Lastly, our live auction will offer incredible experiences and prizes — from luxury travel to local gems — raising funds to secure a water transportation tanker truck that Las Mercedes KM11 urgently needs.
