At VAVV, we’ve seen firsthand the ripple effects of providing clean water. Our work in communities like Monte Castillo, Peru demonstrates the life-changing power of clean water access:
Before our project, 86% of households in Monte Castillo relied on women and children to travel long distances for water, often unsafe and untreated. Post-project, 100% of the community now has access to clean water right within their community.
With clean water close to home, children can attend school consistently. In Monte Castillo, 87% of students now never miss a single hour of class, empowering them with education and opportunities.
Chronic waterborne illnesses plagued 84% of the population before our intervention. Today, that number has dropped to just 13%, meaning 87% of the community is now free from waterborne diseases.
These outcomes are not just numbers – they represent generations of lives transformed. By providing clean water, we’ve empowered families to reclaim their health, time, and futures.
