Nov PSU: Advancing Toward Construction

As November comes to a close, Vera Aqua Vera Vita is excited to report on the significant progress made in our clean water project for Las Mercedes KM11. With detailed planning and collaboration continuing throughout the month, we are getting closer to the start of construction on this vital project. Here are the latest updates from the field.

Ongoing Engagement and Engineering Progress

Weekly Engineering and Community Meetings

Throughout November, our Engineering team held weekly meetings focused on advancing the management aspects of ensuring a viable clean water system for Las Mercedes KM11. These discussions have been critical to refining the technical aspects of the project and aligning on the next steps to bring this initiative to life.

Additionally, our team continued its twice-weekly meetings with the leaders of Las Mercedes KM11, which are held every Monday and Thursday. As we near the end of our project, these sessions provide a critical opportunity to discuss project updates, incorporate community input, and ensure the project remains aligned with the needs and expectations of the community.

Key Milestones Achieved

Cost Estimation Finalized for Clean Water Solution

A significant milestone was reached on November 20th, when cost estimations for the reservoir and distribution facility (kiosk) were finalized, amounting to approximately $43,000. This milestone represents a crucial part of the overall project cost. The remaining costs are tied to securing a sustainable solution for water transportation, either through renting or purchasing a large water transportation truck. We are working diligently with local distributors to solidify these pricing details and ensure the solution remains affordable and sustainable.

Final Collaborations

On November 25th, we submitted a written agreement to the Piura Regional Government (GRP) for review and approval, which included their potential capital funding for Las Mercedes KM11’s solution. This review and approval is a pivotal step in securing the resources needed to implement the project efficiently.

To optimize project costs, we met with two GRP engineers on November 27th. Together, we explored cost-reduction opportunities and obtained assessments that align with public bidding standards. These efforts are focused on ensuring the project remains both financially responsible and impactful.

On November 27th, we also initiated power supply coordination with local engineers and ENOSA. Establishing a reliable power source is a key component of the project, as it will enable the efficient operation of the reservoir and distribution system.

Looking Ahead: December Goals

As we enter the next phase of the project, Vera Aqua Vera Vita plans to hold a Pre-Construction Meeting in December. This meeting will bring together key stakeholders to finalize plans and identify the clean water solution’s construction start date. With construction on the horizon, we are eager to see this project move from planning to implementation.

A Step Closer to Sustainable Clean Water

The progress made in November reflects Vera Aqua Vera Vita’s unwavering dedication to delivering a sustainable clean water solution for the community of Las Mercedes KM11 and far beyond. With the continued support of our partners, stakeholders, and the community itself, we are confident in our ability to transform lives through access to clean water.

Thank you for following along with our journey. Your support is instrumental in helping us bring these life-changing solutions to fruition
