It is the season of Christmas, and around the globe families gather together to celebrate the Nativity of Jesus Christ in their own special way. Whether that’s exchanging presents, cracking walnuts by the fire or giving to your favorite charity, there are many ways to show appreciation for the gifts you’ve been given this Christmas. It’s important to remember during this time of joy and generosity the families around the world who lack some of the luxuries we take for granted. Consider gifts of prayer and treasure for ou rless fortunate brothers and sisters around the world.
Gift of Prayer
Vera Aqua Vera Vita believes in the healing, changing power of prayer, and through this Christmas Season we ask for your prayers. Pray for the success of everyone battling the global water crisis, pray for the victims of the crisis, and ask that Jesus bless everyone involved in VAVV — staff, partner, support, and communities in Peru. Please help our mission’s success: pray for us, either in your personal intentions, or by joining your voice with ours in our Fountains of Prayer Program.
Gift of Treasures
The Nativity Scene was truly an instance of pure kindness and generosity to those who had nothing - our Virgin Mother would have given birth to the world’s savior under open air on a winter night had it not been for the innkeeper’s kindness. Then the wisemen showered the holy family with rich gifts, recognizing the importance of the gift. This Christmas, consider that a donation of $50 can provide access to a clean water supply for one person for generations to come. Donating the worth of one fancy dinner will literally change someone’s life.
