The Real Impact of VAVV’s #GivingTuesday2021

#GivingTuesday2021 has finally arrived! As the last fundraiser campaign VAVV will run in 2021, the success of this campaign is so important to position ourselves for the great work we hope to accomplish in 2022. Tuesday, Nov. 30, will be a day to celebrate generosity on a global scale, and to “unleash the power of radical generosity to transform communities all around the world.”

The work of Vera Aqua Vera Vita is funded entirely by donations, which is why the success of fundraisers like #GivingTuesday is so vital to the progress of our mission. These funds will position us to serve more than 1,500 people with clean water for generations to come in the rural region of Piura, Peru in 2022. With VAVV’s International Planning and Engineering Team well into project development, our partners on the ground in Piura, Peru have been working tirelessly for five months gathering data, surveying the topography, and designing the clean water systems for these communities

These systems will provide water for the two communities of Cerro de Leones and Las Mercedes KM11. Right now, the residents of each of these communities have to walk a mile or more to reach the river or the irrigation water canal where they draw their water from. During preliminary data collection, VAVV discovered 13 different types of contaminants in the canal water from Cerro de Leones alone - these contaminants could pose serious, chronic, and even fatal health risks to the Peruvian residents.

This is why the work of Vera Aqua Vera Vita is so important! We seek to educate and inform these communities about safe Water and Sanitation Hygiene (W.A.S.H.) practices, as well as to empower organization and planning to erect a sustainable water systems.

The developments we’ve already made serve to spur on and encourage our mission even further. When construction was finished on the water treatment facility in Monte Castillo - the first community our organization ever served - the Mayor reported seeing an immediate positive impact on the community illnesses in just a few months.

“I have not heard of any cases recently,” Mayor Javier Leonidas said in Spanish. “And in fact, we have seen a decrease in the number of reported cases in recent months.

This is the gift we want to be able to spread throughout the Piura Region of Peru, and eventually throughout the whole world - the basic human right to clean and accessible water. Especially in the rural areas of Peru where people are forced to drink the same water that animals bathe and defecate in.

Help Vera Aqua Vera Vita be a force for good as we empower communities in developing countries to generate clean water and sanitation solutions that bring “True Water True Life” - let’s help these communities flow from barely surviving to truly thriving! Remember that any donation you give today to support our mission will go twice as far thanks to the $5,250 matching challenge on the table which will God-willing help us reach our goal of $10,500! A gift of $50 means clean water for one person; so, with the matching challenge on the table, that means for every $25 you donate one person receives clean and accessible water for generations to come!

Support our #GivingTuesday Campaign and help change the lives of 1,500+ people for generations!
