Getting into Giving for GivingTuesday #4
GivingTuesday comes at such a beautiful time of year: entering the season of fall and Thanksgiving, a time when the United States takes time to spend with family and celebrate their blessings from the past year. Riding on the gratitude of the Thanksgiving season, GivingTuesday took rise nine years ago to put that gratitude into action.
Mobilizing a global generosity movement, this year on Nov. 30, GivingTuesday creates an opportunity for people around the world to come together to thank, help, give, show kindness, and share what they have with those in need.
This GivingTuesday is the fourth year Vera Aqua Vera Vita has been able to ride the wave of generosity. For this year, 2021, our goal is to raise $10,000 in GivingTuesday donations, and thanks to a generous individual donor we only need to raise $5,000 to do it because we have a $5,000 matching challenge on the table! That means that every dollar that’s donated to our GivingTuesday campaign up to $5,000 will automatically go twice as far! These funds will be integral in ensuring that construction on our two active projects in Piura begins in early 2022.
VAVV is currently underway with planning and engineering to bring comprehensive water solutions to two rural communities in Piura, Peru: Las Mercedes KM11 and Cerro de Leones, with a collective population of 1,500+ residents. As a nonprofit that relies soley on the generosity of our supporters and this being VAVV’s final fundraiser campaign of the year, it is vital for our organization to hit our goal so that we can continue to fulfill our mission to bring clean water to these communities and more to come.
Don’t worry if you can’t donate as much as you’d like, or anything at all because you can join the generosity movement in more ways than giving a monetary gift. We each have a deep reserve of generosity, which we can deploy in a myriad of ways to make a difference--your time, your kindness, and your voice are invaluable gifts during this season of giving.
