July Project Status Update: A Record-Breaking Mission and A Historic Groundbreaking
July was VAVV's most significant month yet. Our largest mission team ever — 28 missionaries including eight engineers — broke ground on the Las Mercedes KM11 clean water system, advanced engineering design on two more active projects, delivered 1,200 care packages, and ran two full WASH + TOB education workshops across two communities. Then many continued into a pilgrimage that took them to the places Pope Leo XIV walked before his papacy. Read the full update.
June Project Status Update: Construction Is Weeks Away & Our Missionaries Break Ground
June delivered the last major engineering milestone before construction begins in Las Mercedes KM11 — and the groundbreaking is now set for the fourth week of July, with VAVV missionaries on the ground. Meanwhile, Las Mercedes held its formal design kickoff for the community groundwater well, and Totoral Bajo kept laying the foundation for its future river-based system. The mission is moving.
