Dec 2023 PSU: Rotary Support, Government Backing, and Survey Milestones!
Cerro de Leones: Stepping Closer to Clean Water
Project Schedule Finalized:
The dedicated efforts of our Planning and Engineering team have culminated in the completion of the updated project schedule for Cerro de Leones. This comprehensive schedule is a crucial roadmap for the efficient execution of our clean water initiative in this rural hillside community.
Rotary International Support:
Exciting news arrived on December 15, as we received confirmation of Plano Sunrise Rotary Club’s commitment to particpate in the pursuit of a Global Grant from Rotary International to fund the projcect. With the Piura Rotary Club on board, we are poised to pursue funding that promises to cover a significant portion of the construction costs for Cerro de Leones' clean water solution. Thank you to the Rotary Club, who understand (and in some cases have seen firsthand) the dire effects of living without clean water and collaborating with us to change the future for thousands!
Advancements in Topographic Survey Work:
A pivotal step forward, Luis Solis (RPLS) has provided a quote for additional Topographic Survey Work to refine the proposed pipeline alignment. With the contract approved, we are set to commence additional surveying to ensure the success of our clean water project in Cerro de Leones.
Property Delineation Surveys:
On December 27, we received updated property delineation surveys from SUNARP, providing clarity on the entire pipeline alignment. This information will prove instrumental in the upcoming stages of securing easement rights for our project's pipeline.
Las Mercedes KM11: Navigating Challenges with Resolve
Engineering and Construction Management:
Throughout December, our Planning and Engineering team has held weekly meetings, diligently focusing on the management aspects of the government approval and construction. This collaborative effort ensures that our clean water project in Las Mercedes KM11 progresses seamlessly.
Easement Rights and GRP Collaboration:
In a month of strategic collaboration, the Piura Regional Government (GRP) has joined forces with Vera Aqua Vera Vita to secure easement rights from the Governance for Special Projects in Piura (PECHP). Meetings held in December have accelerated the process, addressing amendments requested by PECHP. Now with the aid of the GRP, our efforts in overcoming these legal challenges have been renewed for the benefit of the Las Mercedes KM11 community!
Cost Assessment with Remicio & Gutierrez Consultores S.A.C.:
December saw significant progress in understanding the financial scope of the Las Mercedes KM11 construction capital cost. Working closely with Remicio & Gutierrez Consultores S.A.C., we are determining a final quote for an itemized list of overall construction costs. This crucial information will guide our financial planning as we strive to bring clean water to 1,000+ residents in the rural desert community.
Renewed Communication with ENOSA:
To reinitiate conversations to secure necessary power supply for our project, on December 27 our team re-established communication with the governance authority over electricity called ENOSA. With more information acquired and developed, we hope that these conversations can streamline the approval of the power supply necessary fpor the clean water solution in the heart of the Las Mercedes KM11 community.
Property Delineation Surveys Update:
Closing the month on a positive note, we received updated property delineation surveys from SUNARP on December 27. These updated property lines will play a vital role in securing the right of easement for our project's pipeline.
