Nine years ago on June 13th, VAVV was born as a simple vision to answer a monumental call. Today, thanks to your unwavering faith and generous support, that vision translates to over 8,000 lives transformed, four active clean water projects in Peru, and a growing community of mission-driven supporters who refuse to let our brothers and sisters go without life's most basic necessity.
The global water crisis remains profoundly urgent. According to a study done by Science.org indicates that 2 in 4 people (4.4 billion of the world’s 8 billion people), still lack access to safely managed drinking water. In the rural, vulnerable communities of Piura, Peru, that we serve, this gap is widest. Our mission is more critical than ever, especially as we face environmental headwinds. A super El Niño is currently developing off Peru’s coast. Paradoxically, more rain does not mean more clean water; for our communities, the flooding and infrastructure risks mean the stakes couldn't be higher.
