From March 10-18, 2022, Vera Aqua Vera Vita took a team of 7 volunteer missionaries and 2 paid staff members to Piura, Peru to break ground on construction for 2 new clean water projects in the communities of Las Mercedes KM11 & Cerro de Leones and to implement VAVV's W.A.S.H. (Water and Sanitation Hygiene) + T.O.B. (Theology of the Body) Education workshop in the community of Monte Castillo, where back in 2019, VAVV completed it's first project ever.

Vera Aqua Vera Vita was in Monte Castillo, Piura, Peru for the 1st phase of VAVV’s comprehensive infrastructure improvements planned for the village. In this first phase, VAVV empowered the local people in the construction of a Water Treatment Facility, which when it was completed and put into operation in 2019, was capable of providing clean water for drinking and cooking to 7000 people.
Take a walk with VAVV Executive Director Jacob as he introduces you to the new clean water facility in Monte Castillo. He takes you from the settling tanks provided by the Rotary Foundation of Piuran into the facility that VAVV built, which includes the package treatment system, clean well storage and to the faucets outside for the citizens of Monte Castillo to buy clean, safe water for drinking and cooking. VAVV's generous donors have it made possible where 7000+ people in the community of Monte Castillo, Piura, Peru to have clean, safe water available today!
Alcira Santos is Vera Aqua Vera Vita's greatest local champion for her work in Monte Castillo and is in fact a resident member of the community. Meet Alcira as she provides her testimony and thoughts on the now operational Water Treatment Facility in Monte Castillo. VAVV Board member Alberto Montoya interprets her message for her.
Alberto Montoya is Vera Aqua Vera Vita's longest-running volunteer and currently serves as Peru project liaison and a board member. Watch in this video as Alberto provides his testimony and involvement with the Monte Castillo project in Peru.
