Virtual Speakeasy Fundraiser Success!

Marking its third year, Vera Aqua Vera Vita is blessed to announce the success of the Annual Speakeasy Fundraiser Event, this year, gone completely virtual!

This year, the event was hosted via Zoom with an attendance of about 50 supporters, but the faces of the VAVV team could be seen smiling on streaming platforms as well, such as Facebook and YouTube.

The night was full of fun and games, and even the occasional dance! 39 raffle tickets were sold, along with every mystery wine and whiskey bottle, as the bidding battle for auction items raged on(eventually selling 39 items) -- the settings for a beautiful Speakeasy event.

And what a beautiful Speakeasy event it was! With the help of the Emcee Jeff Schiefelbein, the Dave Washburn Jazz band and Giancarlo Bernini’s magical act, the Speakeasy attendance was entertained all night! During one Jazz tune, the audience had a special treat when VAVV’s Founder and Executive Director, Jacob Niemeier, even positioned his camera to showcase his jazz dancing skills with his wife and loving support, Fernanda Niemeier.

But not only was the event about the fun and prizes – at the center of the event was VAVV's mission: to bring True Water True Life to those in need. To remind everyone that these issues are very real tangible issues, one of VAVV’s own volunteers gave a testimonial about his experiences, having been born and raised in Peru and exposed to the hardships faced by water strained areas. Additionally, Rev. Joseph Uhen gave a testimonial about the need of the people in Piura and the impact of the aid sent to help, further flushing out the necessity of VAVV’s presence in Piura.

Of course, 100% of the proceeds raised from the evening will go toward providing our brothers and sisters in Peru with access to clean water & improved sanitation!

The event’s gross proceeds were $26,000, but expenses and item consignment costs lower the total net proceeds to $16,000 – about 54% of the original goal. Even though there wasn't enough money raised to meet the fundraising goal, the evening was still a huge success! Enough money was raised to provide clean water and sanitation services for 300+ people for generations and generations to come!

Thank you to all who supported 2021’s Annual Speakeasy event, especially sponsors Century 21 Scheetz, Plummer, and 5! Without your support VAVV would never be able to do the life changing work that it does!
