Kickoff UD Partnership Event Success
These past few weeks, Vera Aqua Vera Vita (VAVV) has been growing in it’s connections to the University of Dallas (UD) as a part of the VAVVxUD Partnership. Blue VAVV tables could be found all over the infamous University of Dallas “Mall” and inside Haggar Hall on campus, leading up to the grand finale - Vera Aqua Vera Vita got to provide dinner for the UD community and to show in full who VAVV is and how UD can get involved in its mission.
Jacob Niemeier (Founder & Executive Director) supported by Ricardo Arbulu Guerra (Peru Projects & Programs Director), Dalayna Marji (Communications Intern), Joseph Percy-Allen (Business Admin Intern), and Saqib Aboo (Bussiness Admin Intern) had the opportunity to have a strong presences in various places around the UD campus, successfully sharing the mission of VAVV to bring True Water True Life with students, faculty, and staff alike. They stood behind our organization’s logo and invited people to get free bracelets, t-shirts, and most importantly, information.
The students got the chance to meet our organization and learn about the true gravity of the global water crisis, especially in the places where we work. They were invited to participate in a challenge to guess the weight of a jug of water similar to the weight carried by women and children in developing countries. We also got the chance to get some interest and engagement surrounding the initiation of a Vera Aqua Vera Vita club on the UD campus!
On Tuesday, Oct. 12, 2021, Vera Aqua Vera Vita got the opportunity to hold an information session for the University of Dallas community, thanks to the help of UD’s Director of Corporate & Community Partnerships, Rebecca Almanza, and Director of the Office of Personal Career Development, Shannon Blatt. There were a little over 20 UD students that made an appearance that night, and once everyone had settled in with their free Wingstop, Niemeier got to share a presentation about what VAVV is all about. After the presentation, Niemeier, Marji, and Arbulu Guerra sat on a panel and explained a little more about what the partnership with the Univesity of Dallas will look like, sharing about the proposed club, the Spring Mission trip, credited internship and volunteering opportunities, and so much more!
After the panel questions, VAVV was blessed to have students coming up to volunteer their unique skills for the organization’s mission and asking more questions about the mission trip and club. VAVV hopes that this info session will set a precedent for an annual info session event, stirring up more interest and engagement in the University of Dallas community year by year!
