International Travel to Peru is Back!

October 5, 2020

Peru

Beginning on October 1, Peru has begun Phase IV of their plans to reopen the country and reactivate the economy with the allowing of International Flights being one of the biggest changes occurring. For regular updates on the response to COVID-19 in Peru, visit the website of the U.S. Embassy in Peru: https://pe.usembassy.gov/covid-19-information/

The allowance of international flights is good news for the economy and people of Peru because one of their largest economic activities is tourism. This is, also, good news for Vera Aqua Vera Vita and our mission to bring the gift of True Water True Life to the people of Peru because it God-willing will enable VAVV to send a mission team there for our first official group mission trip, December 15-23, 2020.

The people of Peru have suffered greatly during this COVID-19 Pandemic, as of the publication of this article there have been 822K confirmed cases of the virus and 32,609 confirmed deaths. They have had the seventh the greatest number of deaths in the world. On top of the impacts to health and the loss of lives in Peru, the real story of the impact has been far greater with an untold number, arguably multiple millions, of people, many of whom were already impoverished in the first place having been adversely affected by the economic ramifications from the quarantine lockdown implemented as a result of the pandemic. It will be months, years, and maybe even decades before the economy ever fully recovers.

Of course, to make matters worse, the lack of clean water, improved sanitation services, and adequate hygiene & healthcare services means that the road to economic recovery will be long slow because according to the World Health Organization (WHO), “$260 billion is lost globally each year due to lack of adequate water supply and sanitation in developing countries.” This means that until we resolve the challenges caused by the Global Water Crisis in Peru, the people will never experience a thriving life.

Join Vera Aqua Vera Vita as they “envision a world where death, hardship, and poverty caused by lack of access to clean water and improved sanitation are no more, as they desire to see people flow from simply surviving to truly thriving!
