OUR MISSION STATEMENT
By tapping into the physical and spiritual nature of water, we empower people and communities in developing countries to generate clean water and sanitation solutions that bring "True Water True Life."
We are TRUE TO OUR CORE.
At our core we are distinctly unique in two key ways:
We see the people we serve not as incapable or powerless to help themselves but simply
lacking in opportunity and education. Simply put, we see the potential in each and every person we serve; we see the dignity of Christ in each one of them!
We focus on both the physical and spiritual needs of the people we serve because we believe that in order for people to reach their true God-given potential they must be thriving in their body and soul.
We are BETTER TOGETHER.
On earth we are one dynamic body and we are interconnected. It doesn't make any difference where we stand on soil, replenish ourselves with water, or economically sustain ourselves. Our connection is our faith, the love for our families and the need to live productively and respectfully on this planet.
Our humanity recognizes that on this earth many of our fellow humans face day-to-day struggles to just survive. They may encounter suffering not everyone can understand. Yet, when united as individuals or as an organization, we can truly make a physical and a spiritual difference. We are capable of empowering others along the way and also sharing the hope for a better future through Christ. We can help a man, a woman or a community to go from surviving to truly thriving and to find True Water True Life!
We are INSPIRED.
Vera Aqua Vera Vita is inspired by the Scriptures.
Genesis 1:1-2 – In the beginning, when God created the heavens and the earth – and the earth was without form or shape, with darkness over the abyss and a mighty wind sweeping over the waters.
John 4:10-15 – Jesus answered and said to her, “If you knew the gift of God and who is saying to you, ‘Give me a drink,’ you would have asked him and he would have given you living water.” [The woman] said to him, “Sir, you do not even have a bucket and this well is deep; where then can you get this living water? Are you greater than our father Jacob, who gave us this well and drank from it himself with his children and his flocks?” Jesus answered and said to her, “Everyone who drinks this water will be thirsty again; but whoever drinks the water I shall give will never thirst; the water I shall give will come in him a spring of water welling up to eternal life.” The woman said to him, “Sir, give me this water, so that I may not be thirsty or have to keep coming here to draw water.”
Matthew 25:34-46 - “Then the King will say to those on His right, ‘Come, you who are blessed of My Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world. For I was hungry, and you gave Me something to eat; I was thirsty, and you gave Me something to drink; I was a stranger, and you invited Me in; naked, and you clothed Me; I was sick, and you visited Me; I was in prison, and you came to Me.’ Then the righteous will answer Him, ‘Lord, when did we see You hungry, and feed You, or thirsty, and give You something to drink? ...
And when did we see You a stranger, and invite You in, or naked, and clothe You? When did we see You sick, or in prison, and come to You?’ The King will answer and say to them, ‘Truly I say to you, to the extent that you did it to one of these brothers of Mine, even the least of them, you did it to Me.’ “Then He will also say to those on His left, ‘Depart from Me, accursed ones, into the eternal fire which has been prepared for the devil and his angels; for I was hungry, and you gave Me nothing to eat; I was thirsty, and you gave Me nothing to drink; I was a stranger, and you did not invite Me in; naked, and you did not clothe Me; sick, and in prison, and you did not visit Me.’ Then they themselves also will answer, ‘Lord, when did we see You hungry, or thirsty, or a stranger, or naked, or sick, or in prison, and did not take care of You?’ Then He will answer them, ‘Truly I say to you, to the extent that you did not do it to one of the least of these, you did not do it to Me.’ These will go away into eternal punishment, but the righteous into eternal life.”
